The Great Buddha Hall of the Nanchan Temple is currently the oldest preserved wooden building in existence in China with the temple itself having been built in  782 CE.

Within the temple are seventeen original sculptures which date back to the date of the temples construction during the Tang Dynasty. This makes both the sculptures and the building roughly 1234 years old.
